Musically and lyrically, DEKADENZ's new album revolves around the spiraling depths of human existence. There are close looks at the psyche of murderers and the innards of the mentally deranged, as well as apocalyptic scenarios and visions of the future. "elektronoid" discusses the technological and digital revolution - and their consequences. Although the lyrics contain massive social criticism, they should not and cannot be consumed without thought on the listener's behalf, they must undergo individual interpretation so that the listener is impelled to answer questions raised in the music's lyrics for themselves. The panic-laden atmosphere, infused with a heavy air of insanity and angst, is waged against a deeply oppressive - if not pathological - melancholy symbiosis of orchestral and synthetic elements. The propagation of the music into our realm is put forth by ruthless guitar riffing, burning an indelible mark of itself into the listener's brain. DEKADENZ's performance is synchronized by a drum machine and reinforced by cold industrial rhythmic elements. There is an occasional respite from the nightmarish temper when it gives way to brief affectionate harmonies and melodies, only to be violently discarded by the onslaught of dementia short after again. A constant deluge of aural aggression and morbidity reigns over all of this, exerting crushing influence over the listener's mind. What is going on inside the minds of those four musicians? ...open the gate into their sonic realm! |
